 बायोस्फीयर रिजर्व (BIOSPHERE RESERVE) 

बायोस्फियर रिजर्व ऐसे स्थल होते हैं जहाँ पर (पेड़, पौधे व जन्तुओं) प्राकृतिक , कम-से-कम प्रभावित , मानव द्वारा रूपान्तरित एवं अवनति प्राप्त पारिस्थितिक तन्त्रों या वन्य जीवों को सुरक्षित रखा जाता है । बायोस्फियर रिजर्व प्रोग्राम को सर्वप्रथम यूनेस्को (UNESCO) द्वारा सन् 1971 में मैन एवं बायोस्फियर प्रोग्राम (Man and Biosphere Program) के अन्तर्गत प्रारम्भ किया गया था । Biosphere reserves are places where (trees, plants and animals) are natural, least affected, minimally affected, man-adjusted and degraded ecological systems or wildlife.  Is kept safe  The Biosphere Reserve Program was first started by UNESCO in 1971 under the Man and Biosphere Program.

बायोस्फियर रिजर्व के उद्देश्य Objects of Biosphere Reserve :-  

बायोस्फियर रिजर्व प्रोग्राम के प्रमुख उद्देश्य निम्नलिखित हैं- 

(1) प्रत्येक पारिस्थितिक तन्त्र के प्रतिनिधि नमूनों की जानकारी रखना। Knowledge of representative samples of each ecosystem

(2) लम्बे समय तक आनुवंशिक विविधता का संरक्षण करनाTo conserve genetic diversity for a long time.

(3) बेसिक एवं व्यावहारिक अनुसन्धान (Basic and Applied examination) को बढ़ावा देनाPromoting Basic and Applied examination.

(4) जैविक संसाधनों के उचित प्रबन्ध को बढ़ावा देनाPromote proper management of biological resources.

(5) अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय सहयोग में वृद्धि करनाTo enhance international cooperation.

(6) शिक्षा एवं प्रशिक्षण के क्षेत्र में नयी सम्भावनाओं को ढूंढनाTo explore new possibilities in the field of education and training.

संक्षेप में हम कह सकते हैं बायोस्फियर रिजर्व प्रोग्राम (BRP) निम्नलिखित चार सम्मिलित उद्देश्यों (Combined targets) की पूर्ति हेतु स्थापित किये जाते हैं In short, we can say that the Biosphere Reserve Program (BRP) is established to fulfill the following four combined objectives.

(1) संरक्षण (Conservation), (2) शोधकार्य (Research), (3) शिक्षा (Education), (4) स्थानीय भागीदारी (Local involvement)।
